Austin Schroeder at Barchart.com said, “Lean hog futures were down 72 cents to $1.62 across most contracts on Friday, with October slipping 77 cents for the week. Open interest down 3,881 contracts on Friday. USDA’s national base hog price was reported at $85.38 on Friday afternoon, down $1.48 from the day prior. The CME Lean Hog Index was down another 57 cents on September 9 at $88.22.”
