If you’ve been reading my recent columns, you’ll know that I’ve become enamored with and kept a watchful eye on Momma Kildeer, her mate, and her nest by my front sidewalk. I’m curious at her choice of nesting so close to the house, but I took it as a compliment she placed her trust in me (okay, I realize I’m giving her human thoughts and feelings, but it’s my interpretation of her instinctual choices).
