After months of less-than-normal moisture and long periods of drought, things in much of northern Wisconsin changed as May slipped into June. Thanks to waves of rainy weather, by the end of the first week in June most of northern Wisconsin was no longer in abnormally dry or drought conditions. The exceptions were Iron County and parts of Ashland and Vilas counties, where dryness remained.
