'Babcock Dairy Store is well known on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus for their delicious ice cream but their plant also makes quite a few varieties of cheese and packages fluid milk,' Halei Heinzel says. 'Their milk is sourced from the UW-Dairy Cattle Center on campus as well as a few other farms in the Madison area. They use the bagged milk for all the cafeterias on campus.'
'On a tour of Crave Brothers’ Dairy Farm we learned from Beth about how the farm cares for their cows and the environment, watched the cows take a ride around the rotary parlor, and finished with a cheese-tasting across the street at Crave Brothers’ Farmstead Cheese,' Halei Heinzel says. 'For some students on the tour it was their first time seeing cows up close or visiting a dairy of this size.'
'Wisconsin’s cranberry industry contributes $1 billion to the state’s economy each year and creates 4,000 jobs,' Halei Heinzel says.
