MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection plays a key role in protecting animal health – supporting producers and keeping food systems safe. In the November meeting of the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council, members talked about the ag department’s Division of Animal Health. Two main topics were discussed. Dr. Gretchen May, veterinarian and program manager, spoke about animal traceability. Dr. Lauren Kisley, veterinarian and veterinary-program manager, discussed aquaculture. Their presentations explained just how varied and complex animal-health work is in Wisconsin.
