MADISON, Wis. – Members of the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council recently gained a deeper understanding of how Wisconsin balances farm productivity with environmental protection. Three representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protections shared how statewide programs help conserve farmland, manage nutrients, and protect the state’s environment and economy.

Owen Moore of Mishicot, Wisconsin, is a senior at Mishicot High School. He works at Milkinaire Dairy, where he feeds calves, and at Strutz Farm, where he manages calf and cow care as a herdsman. He’s an active member of the Mishicot FFA, where he has served as sentinel, president and now as vice-president.
