Crates of Horlick's Malted Milk await shipment in 1933 to New Zealand for Adm. Richard E. Byrd's second Antarctic expedition. A Husky poses in front with a dog sled. Rear of the print includes handwritten lists of Horlick's products taken on Byrd's first and second Antarctic expeditions. An additional caption reads 'Byrd Expedition #1 and #2. The City of New York. 1933.' But that caption is incorrect. The crates in the photo are clearly marked 'Expedition II 1933,' but the 'City of New York' was one of the ships Byrd used for his first expedition in 1928-1930.
