From planting to harvest, this year’s growing season conditions went from one extreme to another. Excessive rains delayed planting in the spring but autumn has been extremely hot and dry.
Soybean harvest is wrapping up in Spink County where the hot, dry weather rushed beans to maturity and increased fire risks.

A new, year-round CHS grain storage facility is nearing completion near Worthing, S.D. The facility is expected to open by the end of harvest 2024.
The new CHS grain storage facility required roughly 4,000 yards of concrete, 1.2 million pounds of rebar and has over 3,500 yards of concrete in 467 auger cast piles.
