SALMON, Idaho - Despite winter storm warnings, a record number
of equine enthusiasts flocked to the Lemhi County Fairgrounds in
Salmon, Idaho the weekend of April 15th & 16th for the 39th
Annual Salmon Select Horse Sale and 12th Annual Salmon Mule Sale.
According to Sale Chairman Fred Snook, “All sale averages were
strong considering horse sales in general.” The bids on both horses
and mules averaged about $100 more than last year. The overall
horse sale average on 128 head was $2,392 with the 97 geldings
averaging $2,692 and the 30 mares averaging $1,556. The 53 mules
sold for $118,450 to average $2,234.
