ARLINGTON, VA — Former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will join the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) as president and CEO, on Feb. 1, according to a press release. USDEC is a non-profit, independent organization that seeks to enhance the global demand for U.S. dairy products and ingredients.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack testified on the “State of the Ag Economy” at a House Agriculture Committee Hearing in the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, D.C., Thursday, February 17. Secretary Vilsack mentioned in his opening remarks, “As we enter 2011, the farm economy continues to remain strong with U.S. agricultural exports, farm cash receipts and net farm income projected at or above previous record levels.”
