Mississippi River levels return to normal
Many U.S. exports make their way down the Mississippi River through New Orleans and into the Gulf of Mexico on their way to markets around the world. Joan Stemler, chief of water control for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ St. Louis District, said river levels have recovered from last fall’s lows thanks to rains and melting snow around St. Louis and up the river.
