DOVER, Mo. — As James Dunkle harvested a field of corn in Lafayette County, a tractor and grain cart pulled up alongside the combine. The combine’s auger arm swung out, an American flag fluttering in the breeze. In the afternoon sun, the red, white and blue provided a contrast with the golden yellow corn pouring out below.
