According to Farmers National Co.’s experience, nearly 40 percent of the landowners we work with are over 75 years old and more than 60 percent are at least 65. The World War II and Korean War generations worked hard and saved well in order to create financial security. They and the Baby Boom generation are in the middle of succession planning for their wealth and assets. Many times, these assets include farm and ranch land which need a succession plan in order to best handle the change in ownership that will happen at some time.
