WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, & Forestry, wrote Acting Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Michael Young to seek information about the Department’s response to recent reports of food safety corruption in Brazil that allowed contaminated meat to be sold and exported March 22. These serious allegations come after the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently allowed the import of fresh beef from Brazil in October 2016.
