I don’t recall ever having planting complete, with the crop up and looking good, before Mother’s Day. We received 1 inch of rain last Saturday, bringing me to 2.06 inches for May. Saturday’s rain was highly variable with some farms getting 0.1 inches while other neighbors getting over 2 inches. A neighbor will start cutting hay Monday where they had less rain. Side-dress rigs are coming out of sheds to get looked over.
