A huge row recently erupted regarding beef imported into Ireland and other European Union countries from Brazil, because part of the shipment contained banned growth hormones. It’s been confirmed that 128 kilograms of the beef was from animals that had been treated with oestradiol, a growth-promoting hormone banned in the EU.
