Now that school is back in session, it’s a good time to reflect on the many additional ways youth and adults can add to their education outside the classroom. Anyone who has worked with county- or state-fair project animals knows the commitment begins months before the animal is exhibited. As project animals become an extension of the family, the family learns new routines. Some of those may begin before sunrise or conclude well after dark by the time project animals are washed, pens are cleaned and fresh bedding has been provided.
