MARENGO, Wis. – Some treat the land as a commodity. They take every bit of value that can be squeezed out, looking for only short-term profit and worldly wealth. But others feel they’re a part of the land that they have been entrusted with during their time on earth. For them, part of their spiritual practice is to nurture the land to leave it better than they found it for when they pass it on to generations to come is. They touch the hand of God by stewarding their bit of creation each day as they farm. They don’t worry about accumulating worldly wealth. And the wealth they are accumulating isn’t evident to the worldly.
