BROOKFIELD, Wis. – As generations come, strive and go, it’s often the case that fame is fleeting. Marks that we think are made upon the world with permanence often fade quickly. The sands of time shift constantly, covering traces of people and events once well-known. Often we think something is new. But when the sand is moved aside we find that though unique, our era is not novel. And sometimes a forgotten trailblazer has left behind not only a compelling story, but practices we now find commonplace – though we have lost track of their origin.

Jason Maloney and Red
Jason Maloney is an “elderly” farm boy from Marinette County, Wisconsin. He’s a retired educator, a retired soldier and a lifelong Wisconsin resident. He lives on the shore of Lake Superior with his wife, Cindy Dillenschneider, and Red, a sturdy loyal Australian Shepherd.
