April planting has been variable for many farmers so far in the area. There are several farmers done planting corn, and some that are just getting started. Several farms are starting to plant early beans but are being cautious as conditions are starting to dry out. Early planted corn is starting to emerge and is looking good, but there are some poor stands in areas due to dry soil conditions. Most of the rain last week went north of the river, leaving us dry. This upcoming week has several chances of rain, and most farmers are hoping for the best.
