Tom and Lorene Mueller co-own Miltrim Farms along with his sister’s family; the farm was founded in 1904 by his grandfather.
On average seven calves are born each day at Miltrim Farms; they are moved into individual pens upon completing all newborn-calf protocols. They’re cared for by a full-time maternity employee.
Employing new technologies at Miltrim Farms such as a cover-crop seeder allow for minimal disturbance of the soil.
The Miltrim Farms facilities are situated on two sites. The newer site features milking parlors, freestall facilities, and a maternity and hospital area. The original site is a couple miles away; it’s the site of the farm’s heifer facilities.
