In the past 40 years per-cow milk production has more than doubled. That has been due largely to superior genetics in nearly all of America’s dairy cattle that, directly or indirectly, were a result of embryo transfer. That breeding technology was developed in the 1970s by Dr. Robert Rowe, University of Wisconsin-Madison veterinary-science researcher.
