WEST ALLIS, Wis. — Shelly Adams has had the ideal mentor in order to escape this place with minimal mess.
Shelly Adams, 53, enjoys a root beer-flavored cream puff purchased for her by her mother, Sheila Bethia, 77, during the duo's visit to the Original Cream Puff Pavilion on the opening day of the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis. To celebrate cream puffs being at the fair for 100 years, special edition flavors are being offered. Bethia has been coming to the fair and eating cream puffs for 71 years.
It takes around 200 people to produce more than 300,000 cream puffs each year at the Wisconsin State Fair.
Norm and Martha Ecastaedt of Oconomowoc enjoy cream puffs outside the main entrance to the Original Cream Puff Pavilion. Constructed in 1903, the pavilion is on the cusp of a $12.5 million renovation and expansion scheduled for completion before the start of the 2025 State Fair.
