BAYFIELD, Wis. – Quite a few of us take a lot for granted. Often folks think modern conveniences like indoor plumbing, electricity and even constitutional rights have just always been in place for their own enjoyment. We tend to think our towns and cities have always existed and our national, state and local government has been in place forever. But a brief survey of recent history tells us otherwise. So do remnants of days now forgotten, like the courthouse building in Bayfield.
