Busy start to the week for harvest this direction. We did get some much-needed rain Thursday through Sunday — some places receiving more than 5 inches. Creeks are running for the first time in a while. There should be plenty of moisture now to plant cover crops and fall wheat. Still lots of people hauling water to livestock. Many in the area if not done with corn have switched over to early soybeans. The reports from the area are worse than expected. The dry August really cut yield potential. Hearing reports of 20-35 bushel. I think the majority of the later-planted soybeans won’t benefit from the rain, but it may help with quality.
