In my area we have gotten some much-needed rain. The timing could have been better, however — several producers have already started to chop corn silage that was meant to be grain. This rain is really kick-starting the grass and other growth for pastures. A lot of cattle producers are looking toward fall growth to reduce the pressure on the low hay crop and inventory. This week's forecast calls for several days of rainfall. Let's hope it stays in the forecast!
