Monday showed a four-day dry stretch that allowed many acres of hay to be dropped. An unexpected pop-up shower covered a lot of the region late afternoon but didn't make a big impact on quality and curing, thankfully! Corn is canopied in many fields, and soybeans continue to emerge and set trifoliates. Replant acres on early-planted soybean fields and flood ground persisted this past week as well. Wheat has made a very noticeable color change and appears to be setting up for an early harvest, weather permitting. Weekend rains halted most activity Friday. The following week's forecast looks to be a moist one.
