New to Corn Picking Days this year was a 1959 self-propelled Minneapolis Moline Uni-Corn Picker and Uni-Tractor. The Uni-Harvestor series by Minneapolis Moline had several attachments for the Uni-Tractor including a hay baler, combine, and windrower besides the corn picker. The machine is owned by Brian Freeman and is being driven by Randy Aurand. Both are from Courtland, Kansas.
The only woman picking corn at the Jewell County, Kansas Corn Picking Days on Nov.14 was Harlee Cockroft, of Esbon, Kansas. She is shown here driving a Farmall C owned by Calvin Bohnert of Jewell. Riding along is Brad Cockroft, of Esbon.

Rick Vaupel of Lucas, Kansas brought the smallest piece of equipment to the Jewell County Corn Picking Days held Nov. 14-15 in Jewell, Kansas. He is holding a cob scoop. "Not many around." he said. Cobs were moved to and stored in a cob house then burned for heat during the winter.
