A top hog breeder from Nebraska has found that crossing his stock with a certain Scandinavian breed has made for strong litters and good mothers.
Landrace females are known for their large litter size, birth size and good milking ability.

The Landrace breed crossed with Yorkshires creates an F1 female with heterosis advantages, said Max Waldo. Hogs have been raised on Waldo Farms near Dewitt, Neb., since 1895.
