The Hightower Report said, “The cattle complex closed mixed with live cattle near unchanged, while feeders finished slightly higher. The market did not follow through to the downside after yesterday’s poor closes, likely due to the large jump in cutout values today. December trade data showed U.S. beef imports from all origins in 2025 were up 18% year over year to a new record high. Annual exports, on the other hand, were down 14% to the lowest since 2017. Feeder auction results yesterday were strong again and the tight cattle supply situation is keeping buyers active on breaks. Prices may strengthen toward the end of the week as another strong week of cash trade is expected.”
