From cool and dry to hot and dry, going on day 42 without any precipitation. This crop has really gone fast in the last week, and I suspect this week of 90-plus degrees will rapidly speed that pace up. Starting to see a few fields harvested around here, but I’m guessing by week’s end there will be a lot of guys going. We should have beans ready by the weekend if not sooner. Yield reports that I have heard in the area have been 10-15% lower than last year — not a great sign since some yields were 10-15% off of normal last year.
