An update from Switzerland: Cattle graze summer-long in the Alps
Wow my first four weeks into this IFYE experience has been eye opening!
Two other young adults and I who are representing the U.S. for the IFYE agricultural exchange program spent several days in Washington, D.C., communicating with our senators and Congressmen about targeting some funding in the new farm bill for IFYE USA. This would help these next generation of farmers and ranchers learn more about the nations abroad. It would also help youth share these experiences and new ideas with our parents and communities to maybe change perceptions and develop new concepts in our agriculture practices.
Nebraskan travels to Switzerland for agricultural exchange program
BaiLee McMillan of Milburn, Nebraska, a recent graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, is representing Nebraska and the U.S. in an international agricultural immersion program called IFYE.
McMillan traveled to Switzerland in early June and is staying with four different host families across the country until mid-August when she will return to Nebraska. Two other young adults from America are participating in the IFYE exchange in Germany and Thailand.
