“We know that the earlier we detect bovine respiratory disease, the better the prognosis will be,” said Nathan Meyer, veterinarian, Boehringer Ingelheim. “Getting the right treatment into that animal early and quickly will increase your chance of a successful outcome.”

Healthy cattle are the goal when producing beef. However, bovine respiratory disease can severely cut into feeder-cattle profits. To detect sick calves early, think "DART" for depression, appetite, respiration and temperature.
