Most of Wisconsin finally saw rain the week of Oct. 21, with seven-day totals of 0.25-inch to 3 inches. But the 30-day totals are still well less than normal for most of the state. Temperatures were several degrees warmer than normal this past week. Drought coverage was unchanged from the previous week, with small changes in topsoil moisture at Wisconet sites. Outlooks for the October-November transition indicate a slight lean toward warmer-than-normal temps. There will be no U.S. Department of Agriculture-National Agricultural Statistics Service update this week due to the federal-government shutdown.
