Right this very minute down on the farm we are mending fences. It is the time of the year when we have finished harvesting a field and need to get the fence back in shape to hold the cattle in (fingers crossed).
"Most years we keep the calves until January or February and make sure they are conditioned and ready to move on to feed lots, but this year we have been advised to just get them to the sale barn once they are weaned and vaccinated. So off these calves will go!"
