There are many sedatives used in veterinary medicine. Some are considered “controlled” while others are not. As drug abuse becomes more and more common throughout the world, our government has to regulate which drugs are dangerous enough that their every drop has to be recorded and accounted for. Currently, xylazine is not one of those drugs, but that might change soon.
