With the warm seasonal weather, personal BBQs are being heated up. One of the favorite foods served from them is the hot dog. The sausages, otherwise known as frankfurters, were brought to the United States from Germany and Austria in the 19th century. They were quite common in Frankfort and Vienna. The word “hot dog” became a slang term with a fun reference to the resembled dachshund dog.
