A well-funded Wisconsin conservative group is blasting seven County Board candidates in sparsely populated Iron County, calling them “radical anti-mining” environmentalists.

Karl Krall, wearing a dark shirt and a hardhat to the right of Gov. Scott Walker, has been targeted by a conservative group as a "radical anti-mine" environmentalist. Krall said he remains a mine booster, just as he was on Jan. 15, 2013, when he and other union members were introduced by Walker during a State of the State address that pushed for mining law reform.
Americans for Prosperity said it sent this mailer to about 1,000 households in Iron County where a county board election is taking place April 1. The major issue in the election is a controversial proposed iron mine.
A second Americans for Prosperity mailer, this one promoting nine "pro-jobs" Iron County Board incumbents, was received by residents on Thursday, March 21.
A mailing sent on March 19 to Iron County residents by Americans for Prosperity suggests dire consequences if challengers to the Iron County Board were elected April 1.
