COLUMBIA, Mo. — Fifty years ago, in 1973, the University of Missouri included soybeans in its crop yield testing program for the first time. Every year since, MU has conducted its soybean variety testing, seeing how they fare across the state in all kinds of conditions, from ideal weather and bumper crop years to years of drought and storms and replant.
