Four-wheel ATVs are becoming more and more popular on farms in Nebraska and across the country. Unfortunately, as their usage grows on farms, the number of accidents is climbing as well. As many as a third of those accidents involve children.
ATV accidents on the rise, UNL fighting back
Aaron Yoder, Ph.D. and assistant professor with UNMC’s Central States Center for Agricultural Safety and Health, demonstrates how to stand and lean on a steep hill on UNL’s new ATV simulator. The ATV, which was gutted and replaced with hydraulic controls, will tour the state to help educate producers on proper handling techniques of all-terrain vehicles.
