MANITOWOC, Wis. – Many believe food comes from grocery stores. A lot of folks in cities have never seen a farm or met a farmer, and most people in our nation never will. For them the essential connection between how life-giving food is produced and their own existence is lacking. But what if there were a place people could visit to learn about farms and farming? Maybe adults and children who visited would come away with knowledge that would lead them to have respect for agriculture and the people who grow food for us all.

Jason Maloney is an “elderly” farm boy from Marinette County, Wisconsin. He’s a retired educator, a retired soldier and a lifelong Wisconsin resident. He lives on the shore of Lake Superior with his wife, Cindy Dillenschneider, and Red, a sturdy loyal Australian Shepherd.
