HANOVER, Germany – Discussions surrounding alternative fuels for farm machinery continue but the reality is diesel engines delivering big power will remain for many years to come. Currently more than 80 percent of the off-highway market is powered by diesel, due to its low operating costs, robustness and ease of refueling to keep machines working. Experts estimate that by 2035 more than three-quarters of vehicles with more than 56 kilowatts of power will still be equipped with a diesel engine.
