When I was about my daughter’s age, I’d spend a day each summer at the Deuel County 4-H building. We’d learn about farm safety, memorize the significance of the plow, rake and hoe that made up the emblem of the state’s oldest farm organization, and tinker away to complete craft projects and coloring pages.
