It's been another two weeks of pop-up rain events to make sure we don't dry out too much. We had a surprise 1.2 inches of rain on July 10 that put a stop to spraying soybeans and laid down some rye again.
Matt Tiffany received quarter-sized hail July 15. He said that fortunately, it caused little damage.

Matt Tiffany farms with his dad, Bruce, in Redwood County, Minnesota, using a combined approach to address erosion, water infiltration and soil fertility. He grows a full season rye cover crop, along with corn and soybeans. The rye and soybean are sold for seed. Tiffany and his dad are alumni of the Minnesota Agriculture & Rural Leadership Program.
