Working in agriculture often involves physical, tireless work, but many people go above and beyond, working hard to contribute to rural communities and to the next generation in the industry. Two of those women were recognized for their contributions this fall.
Dr. Alice Harty of Milesville, S.D., is a large animal veterinarian who helps producers care for their animals and helps kids get involved in rodeo. She was named South Dakota Ag Woman of the Year by the South Dakota Women in Agriculture organization.

Mykelsi Still is the assistant manager of Fall River Feedyard, one of the largest feedyards in South Dakota. The Oelrichs, S.D. woman was named the Young Gun of Ag by the South Dakota Women in Agriculture organization.
