Since forming in 2017, the Southwest Montana Sagebrush Partnership has had a clear mission – do what is right to preserve one of our nation’s largest, continuous sagebrush steppes. This delicate ecosystem in the Montana counties of Madison and Beaverhead is important habitat for wildlife, the crux of a livelihood for hundreds of cattle ranchers and by extension, it is also the heartbeat of the communities and economies that dot the landscape.
