For the NTD mechanics, Dukek explained that his on-the-road employees struggled to find open restaurants and diners during the shutdown, so he took action. He re-outfitted their technicians’ work trailers, supplying all the mechanics with microwaves and food to ensure they were fed properly on the job so that they would not have to return home between each visit.
