A team of four University of Wisconsin-River Falls students placed first in the National Forage Bowl Competition. The event was held Jan. 7-8 in conjunction with the American Forage and Grassland Council, in Mobile, Alabama. UW-River Falls was the smallest university in the competition; the students bested larger schools. The team’s coach, Yoana Newman, associate professor of crop science, said the group's smarts and strong work ethic landed them the national victory.
