Fairlife Ultrafiltered Milk will be available in Canada in fall 2018, according to Coca-Cola, owner of the brand. Coca-Cola will be building an $85 million production facility in Peterborough, Ontario. Canada is the first international market for “fairlife.” The product contains 50 percent more protein and 50 percent less sugar than traditional milk and is lactose-free, according to Coca-Cola.

Sales of "fairlife" ultra-filtered milk increase while overall demand for fluid milk has declined, according to Mark Stephenson, an agricultural economist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Milk is filtered to concentrate protein and calcium while removing sugar.
