The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Crop Production Report and the August World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates, published Aug. 12, confirm we have very large crops in American fields. Corn, soybeans and other-spring wheat are projected to have record and more-than-trend yields in 2024. The August reports are the first of the year to estimate yields for corn and soybeans based on farmer surveys and satellite imagery. And planted- and harvested-acreage estimates were updated to incorporate certified acreage from the USDA’s Farm Service Agency.
